repowering...if you guys are considering repowering with 4 stroke engines,you should check with the boat manufacture,to make sure the boat is gonna handle the extra weight...remember,older boats were not designed to withstand the weight of a 4 stroke engine.a good example is grady white,they specifically state,not to repower the older boats with the new 4 stroke engines-the weight is the factor.i've seen a few gradys repowered with 4 stroke engines,seen one with honda engines,the bracket was pulling off the boat,the inside support pieces for the transom were seperated by about 1/2"-not good huh
i rebuilt the transom on a 25 sailfish the owner had a set of 150 yamamha 4 strokes hung on the boat,the transom failed...
trust me guys,you wanna be real careful of this,it will lead to big problems...
