Description
NC trip Easter Sunday
This was the keeper for the day at 70 inches 185 lb.
Caught two 250 lb, one 300 LB and the bigest one was caught on a jig estimated over 100 inches and 600 lb

Between my son and me we caught 2 at 250lb and the one in the photo. The 600 pounder was caught by one other guy on the boat. It took 4 1/4 hours to get to the boat.

hey john, nice fish and were you on the ***EDITED***? heard a guy landed a 600#er on a jig the other day and was wondering if u were on that trip.

I gather you guys (or another trip the next day or so) got a giant on a jigging setup and another on a Penn 16VSX with Penn stock rod. Was that you guys? I give you guys a lot of credit to get big fish like that on these relatively small reels. The capt, mate and angler have to be top notch thats for sure. Congrats to you guys.

Scott, the fellow caught the 600 lb on 450 Black Hole Cape Cod Special jigging rod/JM PE8 reel filled with Varivas Avani using 32 lbs drag. The angler took advantage of opportunity to gain each and every inch of line. The captain had several tricks up his sleeve as well. It was exciting to witness the fight and I gained some experience on landing big fish
