Dan, can I pick your brain a bit? Below link is the radio I have, says scan, dsc, distress etc. But I can't get it to scan. I can put (save) 3 channels in but it will not scan. I have to manually push a button to go from one saved to the next. Is this the norm for this radio or am I doing something wrong?

When you hit scan it should scan through the channels you have tagged.

You might have to hold the scan button down for two seconds and not just press it real quick. I have 525 and you need to hold the button down a bit to enable or disable scanning.

Thanks, I will check that out tomorrow. Its just a pain that 16 will not kick in if its set on another

according to the manual,,u have just all scan,,,no tagging,, unlike the 525 like i have it has no memory scan for channels. Hope this helps,,dont go crazy

Thanks all, I d/the manual and was looking at it. I got it working. All channel, scan only, You cant pick what channels to scan. Thanks again. My dad once told me, when all else fails read the instructions, lol

And the Uniden Solara sucks, Only all channel scan and I put it up to my Uniden HH Where I can pick what channels to scan and by the time the fixed mount scans around the conversation on the HH is all done, so you lose it all. Even Channel 16 dosent kick in, it must channel around again..

Sorry, Dan I just wanted to close this on the Uniden Solara fixed mount. My unit is a few years old and I'm sure the newer ones are better..
