Cleaned the hull and bottom, put the first coat of wax on the boat, and fixed a few dings under the waterline. If this weather keeps up, I'll be back in by March 1st.

I,m with you John, got an early start on a couple of upgrades on the boat and just enjoying the great weather. Every day is one day closer to striper season.

UPDATE: If I get nice weather this week and weekend, I am hoping to finish the prep work for the coming season. It will be down to the mechanical upgrades, but I am hoping to be in the water by St Patty's Day.

Big thanks to Walt(Grande Rose), Dave(Just a Fluke sr), and Tim. We banged out a lot of work today. Down to bottom paint, the lower units, and a couple of switches for the head.
Guys, Dinner is on me as soon as we can get the wives to plan the date.

Mike, Great friends, and guys that must really miss being on the water and fishing.
Harold stopped by this morning, told me he had a much needed day off, then asked me if I wanted him to paint the bottom.
Thanks to Harold, I can check that off the list. What I am going to do with the cooler of beer that I just filled for the guys that were going to help me paint the bottom this Saturday?
Fishing strategy meeting at the boat?

Sounds like a plan Dave.
Mercury does not mess around when it comes to parts for Verados. Two upgraded lower units ordered Tuesday afternoon, and they arrived today. We should be in the water early next week. Shake down trip then time to start fishing.

Dave, Glad to hear that. Sorry I couldn't make it there yesterday. The bum leg had me sidelined. Toni wanted to take the girls to the acquarium in Point, but I wasn't able to walk around.
Sounds like you guys had a great time.

Began spring commissioning yesterday. Unwrapped, waxed, britework Flitzed. On the way! I love that first spring day of working in the yard, with the smell of Fleetwax in the air...
