What a week! Between howling winds for much of the week due to the mid week Nor'easter, and overeating once again on Thanksgiving Day, we managed to get three trips in as our season begins to wind down.

Monday I had a dad bring his 16 year old daughter out just ahead of the storm for her first try at striper fishing, and the duo scored 10 bass to 32" plus a fat 17" fluke that inhaled a live spot in the inlet. Most of the fish were caught in the inlet on spot, but as has been the case for us most of this fall, the keepers fell to clams in the bay. Saturday's trip was a bit slow, with the guys landing just a couple of bass to 31" on clams after rough inlet conditions after the storm sent us back inside prematurely. Today was a different story, with plenty of jig hungry fish right outside the inlet this morning until the boat traffic put them down. We ended the morning with 10 bass to 34", mostly on jigs before heading back in to soak clams for a few keepers.

We'll probably keep at it for another week or so before putting the boat away for this year, but it certainly looks like there will be plenty of fish around well into the new year.
