Hey guys - Brian from Forked River here and longtime member o the forum. (bayfisher). Wanted to introduce a random idea we came up with to hopefully/possibly help our fish stocks - called garbagefish.com The website says it all. http://www.garbagefish.comBeing a long time resident and fisherman in this area, I've become increasingly bummed by the ever stringent regulations on recreational fishermen and our fisheries such as the fluke fishery. As a fun and proactive response I've created garbagefish.com to give people a laugh and at the same time promote the awareness on how to utilize our garbage fish - sea robin - skate - dogfish - as legitimate table fare and viable fisheries. Hopefully, in time, if we can get some legs on this thing - all other fisheries will benefit. Check out the site and get a laugh and we'll be at the Lacey Elks Flea market on March 14th to give away stickers and push the idea. Brian garbagefish.com

Exactly. Definately looking forward to adding some fun ideas to that section since we all know how to catch garbage fish, but I'm thinking some outlandish techniques. Maybe a mousetrap, loaded with a spearing, tied to a leader. As for tourny's, we are thinking about a Garbage Fish tourny, but a guy I know from the band Ween - wikipedia them if you don't know 'em - has featured us on his fishing site. http://www.brownietroopfs.com/index.plMickey's site is hilarious with some great fishing videos that you need to see. I got nothing done one day just watching them. He runs a S**t fishing tourny and we want to piggy back with him so we'll be working on that. Would be a lot of fun and we have a great local venue for the weighins/party. Thanks for the feedback. Brian garbagefish.com

Bergall and sea robin fillets both make excellent bait for fluke and sea bass, knew a few people who also eat sea robin.

I like the Boca Grande trash fish slam idea. I might have to make some flags for the southern garbage fish as we don't have lizzard fish and many lady fish up here. We are working out the details for the tournament this summer. Question. Anyone familiar with the Sunrise Beach Club - boat ramp? It's a bulkheaded pseudo beach with a nice huge pavilion and playground, located on Capstan in Forked River. Was wondering if it's deep enough by the bulkhead to get boats in there? I can get that place for a weigh in - bar-b-que - after the tourny but it would be cool to be able to come by boat. Also - check out this write up I got in Field and Stream online. http://www.fieldandstream.com/blogs/bass/2009/01/cermele-talking-trashBrian garbagefish.com
