Well, it's been over a week since my last report 'cause I've been trying to find something to add to what's already been reported. But I've had five trips since my last report and have the same story that everyone else has... bluefish have invaded in force and it's tough to talk about anything else.

These aren't all the sorta smallish tasty guys we get every year at this time, nor are they the ravenous heads we see some Springs tearing around looking for something to fill out their body. There are some real bruisers mixed in this year. We've had several fish this week in the 8-10 pound class plus one beautiful 12 pounder, all on small poppers fished in the open bay. I gotta say, there ain't many things better than having to fire up the engine to chase one of these runaway trains.

Bass and weakfish have been hiding out with all these big slashers running around, but look for that to change any day now. Bass have an attitude that won't put up with these yellow eyed critters for too much longer, and the weakies, well they've got some business to take care of.

Cya out there.

Capt. Jack:

Thanks for your valuable input. I was getting worried that I'm missing out on a great run of weakfish.

Now we all just have to put our heads together and figure out where a weakfish would hide to stay away from those choppers!

I'd say, shallow and under sod banks or up the rivers doing the same thing.
