The striped bass action along our beaches out front has been a hit or miss situation so far. The few keepers that have found their way to the local scales the pass week or so have been taken mostly on bait. Cut bunker and clams remain the forever one two punch in the natural bait category. SP style swimmers fished with thin dark colored teasers are also seeing action but seem to be attracting mostly shorts at present. We are still waiting for the blue fish action to start up in the back bay. There are adult size bunker in the bay but nothing seems to be on them. Short bass remain plentiful around the big bridges, with rubber jigs and small swimmers accounting for the majority of the fish taken. Drifting blood worms near the bottom in the deeper areas is also a good bet... John Yac
