well if you trimmed the tab down you get to see whats in front of you. Gees Jawz dont you know anything? lol Put one on each side of the rudder and you will have side scanning sonar as well. I thought it was a very creative idea. You just dont get it. lol, Is the washdown pump just a scoop under the hull with a hose? lol later, joe

I wish I took pictures of the 32 Blackfin we looked at that had an 8" PVC pipe glassed into the transom with a piece of plexi-glass 5200'd at the end with a round auto headlight shoved into the pipe for underwater lighting. Now that is thinking outside the box!

This time when I clicked on submit; I watched green bars going across bottom of page. After last green bar; picture flashed on screen for a 1/100 of a second & then my post shows only text.

Bob, there is no file extension in your link. For example .jpeg Try using Photobucket, they give you the links to copy and paste and their not trying to sell you anything.

Thanks, LuciFish; went to Photobucket and got the jpeg file extension. Low & behold I went to download pic & I saw where JoeK beat me to it. I wanted to refresh memories to all about where & how some boaters mount their transducers besides on the trim tabs. I'll leave it at that & thanks for the pointer.

just when you think you've seen it all, something a little better comes along-a transducer idea why idea

i will never understand what people do to thier boats and vehicles...some of the things i've read,i'm amazed more people do not die in their boat every year, here's an example...
old thru hull fitting-a gentleman was going to remove the old fitting, and install a stainless steel carrage bolt and 2 large flat washers, fill the hole with 3m 5200,call it a repair idea good luck right idea
i read this alot on another forum, guys with aluminum gas tanks that leak, they repair them by filling the holes with marine tex,and covering the tank in fiberglass matting-using polyester resin,no etch prime,no nothing, and these guys swear by this"repair",some actually reccomend it idea one gentleman claimed his insurance company called and sent a letter to him concerning the boat, asking if the tanks were fiberglassed over idea?
there's a proper accepted way of doing things, everything, for that matter.i've never professed to know everything and i've never professed my way is the only way,i state my experience, and i state facts...please,do not get in over your heads in a repair, trust me,it will cost more to repair it,if this happens.i see this alot, guys make a common mistake, they believe thir abilities far exceed what they truly are, they will get into a job that's way over thier head . then the problem begins,i see it constantly with electrical systems, and fiberglass repairs...if you're not sure about something and you've got absolutley no experience in something, leave it alone,go to someone who does this...i had a a problem with my heart,i went to deborah heart and lung center,i didn't attempt to fix it myself and i didn't go to a gynecologist either,i went to the correct place...what i'm saying is,use common sense,if you've got a grady white boat, and your transom is falling out, don't listen to your buddy tellign you,we can make a plate to reinfocre it,listen to that little voice in your head that says,"this is wrong"...

ya know,i really shouldn't make fun of someone's misfortune,but...i can't believe what i read sometimes...
i read on another site, where a boat owner decided to change the oil in his gear(transmission),he managed to get a plastic tube stuck in it some how idea not really sure how, but, hey,i'll work with him...then,in his wisdom to remove this piece,he jammed a coat hanger down there, and broke that off idea?
listen,i give tons, absolutley tons of free information,i have absolutley nothing against anyone doing their own work, but,be serious,if you have no mechanical abilities, call someone that does,it's gonna be cheaper...
