Description
No Bunker, no problem! Just use clams...

Went fishing on the Hyper Striper out of the Highlands today. In less than ninety minutes we limited out on stripers and were throwing keepers back. Several fish in the 25 lb. to 30 lb. range.

Once the stripers stopped biting we switched over to sea bass and put 20 tasty and nice sized fish into the box. Never went past the 3 mile limit.

Came back to dock early with jelly arms. Then as a surprise bonus I hit NO TRAFFIC on the PARKWAY on the way home.

It was a perfect day, even with the morning showers.

Yeah, it was a great day. At the end of the run we were throwing back keepers. There was six of us on the charter. We had to use a bonus tag for a gut hooked fish at the end of the trip, which is how we wound up with 13 keepers.

The captain took us to spot he knew about and told us the fish would bite hard until about 8 AM (we left dock at 6 AM) so this was our best chance to catch 'em.

At 8 AM it was like someone turned off a switch. Before that we always had at least one fish getting brought in. We tried another place after that and then went to a local snag for the SB.

Nice trip Greg, sounds like using clam is the ticket.

I haven't been out since last week, but it seems as if the bunker boats wiped out the fishery along the beach.

Way to go on the sea bass as well.

When asked where did we catch the fish, it's always in the same place, the lip.....
