In late fall/early winter I would suspect medium or small giant tuna as they come through inshore every year. Once I had the opportunity to witness them actively feeding on 30-34" striped bass. Was a wild sight. Was wondering what was doing it at first when I was coming back to the boat with striper heads, then they came crashing out of the water. It was unreal with bass spraying out of the water like bunker.

Joe, I witnessed the same two years ago in the late fall right off LBI. thought it was shark at first from a distance but then saw the tuna crashing the top of the water
