Mike and friends chartered for Bluefin fishing we broke the inlet around 3am and arrived on the fishing grounds before day break. We had the spread out and had real good signs tuna chicks porpoise whales and things were looking good but unfortunately we trolled the area for about two hrs without a bite. We decided to pickup and run out to the area we have been fishing and things were looking pretty bleak we trolled the area for couple hours without a touch. Then the center rigger goes off and we come tight and finally hooked up. While clearing the rods Bret turns and says there’s only quarter of the spool left so we finish clearing the rods and set in for the fight. We ended up fighting this for about an hour or so with everybody getting a chance on the rod and had couple guys fighting there first tuna! They did a great job on a nice fish. Then Bret sunk the gaff in a nice 63 inch fish. Had a great bunch of guys today - all in all a great day on the water.
