Description
Left the dock around 7am with Capt Gene aboard for only our 2nd trip of the season first one last week was a bust. We started at the tires landing one keeper that was sacrificed for bait. We ended up with our 2 man limit in a few hours and most were caught on fluke belly and a few on live peanuts.Felt great to be back on the water catching. Biggest fish was 23"....

Griff, I was out at GSS at the same time. The drift was mad fast had 2 drift socks out. We didn't start catching until the wind died down around 11. Left around 3pm with 4 keepers and one nice 25" mat. Kids had a blast. Posted pic. What were u putting the peanuts on?

Tip: when the drift is that fast, I leave my port engine in reverse and turn the wheel hard to port. This cuts the drift and keeps us relatively broadside to the drift, rather then 'backing down'. We had a 2.5kt drift on a recent trip that dropped to 1kt with this technique. We boated three keepers in an hour.

Just a simple sinker with a dropper loop and a 4/0 plain hook for the peanut.

Like the idea of the port engine in reverse, will try it.
