I think that may be a frigate mackerel. They look like juvenile little tunny, but the lack of the characteristic spots behind and under the gill plates identifies them as frigates. Also inedible, with red flesh, but good fighters. We have been getting them mixed in with Atlantic Bonito on Barnegat Ridge since mid July.
