Description
Netted these fish in Barnegat bay. the first one was brown when I caught him but much darker in the tank and has a sucker mouth. I think the second one is some kind of wrasse

The first one is a skillet fish, has a sucker on the bottom? Second I am not sure. Capt Alex has a book, I bet he can find it.

was working on second one but my good ID book is in my classroom. If I don't figure out soon I will have it by to tomorrow

bigal, can you please post a better pic of the second one? Is that spot on the dorsal or is that on the rock? First thought is a mangrove (grey) snapper. We usually get immature ones in the bay this time of year (black stripe through eye, blueish one across the nose)

Yes that is a spot on his fin if you zoom in you can see it a lot clearer. Not a snapper already have one in the tank completely different
