Based on the right column it looks like it might be a thresher. Lots of them around right now

What does one do in the unlikely event of catching a large (huge) Thresher from the surf idea I'd be happy with a large Striper !

Land it and eat it!!!

Thresher is great eating....ive seen many just outside the breakers on bunker, so the possibility is there!!

Based on the gigantic tail..I think it could possibly be a thresher.

Is it really that good to eat.?

According to Osearch, Mary Lee is right off of Surf City and has been up and down the Jersey coast this week. Be careful out there. Especially if you're in a small boat!

Wouldn't you need the HMS permit for a shark? I personally know this guys wife

http://www.nj.com/shore/blogs/fishing/index.ssf/2011/11/bluefin_tuna_in_bay_head_surf.html

He got a run for his money when word got out that he caught the tuna. He eventually got to keep it...but if F&G really wanted to bust balls they could have. Note that date...LATE Nov...

Gotta love my Captain Jim getting that Cock Robin plugged.

This was the very same year I heard reports on my VHF of tuna jumping out of the water at BLR - the Captain who was on the two way was frantically calling for his buds to come out with heavier gear than he had.

And that is how one copy's and paste my friend... wink

Thats alot of meat...Ill be sure to post if I am fortunate to catch one. I have reservations on taking such a large fish. But if it all goes to use....Enjoy!
