Description
We headed out of shark river and got bunker, never seeing this done before we were amazed at how effortlessly Capt Joe and John were hooking the bunker. I was surprised at the size of the bunker. Some were pushing 15" and to imagine a fish taking that whole was exciting.

Joe headed for some spots he did well with JR (local friend) during the morning and first to hook up was my Dad (heck yea!!!!). Many have tried and many have tried pretty darn hard to get my Dad on some decent size fish with out accomplishing the fet. My Dad when asked could never really tell you if he had cought a striper or not in the past. Well I dont think he will have to thing hard about that anymore, what do you think?

We cought and kept our limit (plenty of family to enjoy it) and released 3-5 additional. It was crazy watching the bunker run the surface and get swollowed by those huge bass. It would be quiet one min and then things would explode the next. Capt Joe and John were running around the boat moving bait rods, netting fish, unhooking fish and pictures happened if they could. It was crazy fishing during the last 2 hours I couldn't imagine a much better night than to have my Dad and Brother with me living up the experience.

Nice catch, and yes, it is amazing how those big guys swallow those huge bunker--in a twinkling.
I've experienced it numerous times, but always thrilling.

Now, you should see how tiderunner weaks do the same thing, Raritan Bay, full moon, in summertime....! We used to get 'em as long as your leg out there.

thanks again everyone. inspired me to really put some time back into the boat. Put the lower end of the engine together this evening and will put the outdrive back together tomorrow evening. Really excited and my Mom says my Dad has been talking about the fishing for 3 days now. smile
