Sea Robin aren't bad. They're meaty and mild. Think of a texture similar to bluefish (not flakey like fluke or croaker), but milder in flavor.

Filet the tail of a Sea Robin, bread and fry. Very good. You get two "chicken finger" like pieces.

Oh, and yes, blowfish are good. Skin them like a catfish and cut the meat off the backbone.

Both are great. On the Blow fish, leave backbone in, cook and bone just about falls out.
I find the Sea Robbins tougher to filet/clean but they are fine eating. Gotta be big cause they are all head. So all you're eating is the tail. Enjoy !

Excellent info mates thank you..
Will try the aka garbage fish lol jak
Chicken fingers lmfao...imfao
I'll try both methods tomorrow and see how they taste....
I really thought someone said if you eat the wrong part of the blowfish it has poison..

The shark was a sand shark no more then 2 ft at most ..hit his line on minnow ...easy release back...
Thanks mates ....

Welllll? I was in France once on business and went to a swanky upscale restaurant and on the cover of the menu was our good friend the sea robin....and for appetizer??? A plate of fried spearing. We could be millionaires in France!!

I have tried sea robin and its not bad. It's a bit difficult to fillet, so I usually only keep the really big ones.

If the blowfish are decent sized, keep 'em. They are delicious. Look up the blowfish recipes on this site.
