I went out around 1pm for a solo run not really expecting to get anything but I could not resist the conditions. Got to the inlet and turned N to just inside the pocket. Lots of action with dolphins and birds feeding on bunker, lots of marks below so I tried to snag a few bunker. But, I could not snag any. Decided to troll around on the outside of the few boats that were fishing the bunker and it really paid off. I dropped a white mojo with a trailing #1 white maja spoon in 30ft, about 25 ft of trolling the rod goes off. Thinking I may have snagged on something I realized it was fighting back.It took off about 100 feet of line and I did not even have my net out yet. While I am fighting this fish I'm using my feet to try to pull the net out of the cabin. Took me a little bit to solo this thing into the boat but it was not going anywhere as it had swallowed the bunker spoon. it pegged my boga grip at 45 lbs. She had 5 bunker in her gut. Had it not swallowed the hook I would have released her.

Awesome! Best part is you didn't have to drive around for hours on end looking for them:-)

Glad to hear she would have been released had she not swallowed the hook. I wish that there was more of that going on. Take a picture, then release. The cows aren't good eating anyway.

Good job. I was one of the guys fishing snagged bunker, never connected with a bass. Kinda frustrating seeing some big marks on the fishfinder and not getting a touch. At least now I know how big the fish were!
