Caught this little guy in the net today. Looks a little like a Snakehead but was caught in a lagoon in Forked River.

What they Heck is it.

Hard to tell from the pic, but it looks like a baby cobia. I have caught them from time to time while blow-fishing. I don't know if Snake heads can live in salt water

I thought Cobia also, The tail threw me a bit though.

maybe they are like that then they are fingerlings.

Juvenile cobia and remora look very similar. Did it have the flat sucker part on the top of it's head. If not I am betting on a cobia. Hard to tell from the pics but it looks like a cobia to me.

Those little guys are always swimming around the bay this time of year and they always stir up the same remora/cobia debate. haha

Last year at Tice's they where around and they swam so slow you can lift them out of the water with your hands. Makes me wonder how they weren't getting gobbled up by other bay life.
