Description
Did a late afternoon trip with my sister, girlfriend and a few buddies. Worked some good marks with the jigging gear, came up with two dogfish. Not wanting to waste any more daylight, we ran to 55' of CG station, not because of any reports, but because the spot has produced on otherwise slow days for us in the past. After 20 minutes, bang! 34" on green spoon. Reset, half hour later, wham! 48" on same green spoon. My sister's personal best, (I'm very jealous as my personal best is a 39.5lb and hers surely was bigger than mine. Must be beginner's luck!) This is about the 4th bass she's ever caught. Reset again. Same green spoon gets walloped even harder than the last fish. Having trouble getting it out of the rod rigger. SNAP! Gonzo, forgot to loosen the drag after fighting the beast and backing was failing near connection to wire (noticed on re-tie). No other bites. Cannot express how badly I wished I had another Julian's green spoon to put out there.

Nice fish, looks like the ladies have better luck recently. Nice when a plan comes together.
