Question about the annual tournment - 01/30/07 09:23 PM

I know the new tourney has not been posted yet but can we enter fish now? Example: If you do a winter offshore trip for sea bass would they be eligible ?

Re: Question about the annual tournment - 01/30/07 09:37 PM

Larry said he would have the details up soon. But as usual money would need to be paid before weighing a fish.

You could just post last years rules/fees with an added 2nd place payout.

Re: Question about the annual tournment - 01/31/07 08:26 PM

Do you think we should drop the Bass category because of the Bass Tournament?

And my the way, I'm ready for those shot gun starts!

Re: Question about the annual tournment - 01/31/07 08:31 PM

No, I think we should keep all categories the same. The tournys are only one or 2 day trips. The other shows a year of good fishing, not one lucky weekend.

Nice ride. Did you check the history of that baby? If not it was used to either run drugs or to combat drug trafficking in Europe.

I like it though. May be tough to insure 2000 hp.

Re: Question about the annual tournment - 02/09/07 11:00 AM

Larry,

Since I do charters on a part time basis will I be allowed to enter the annual tournament? I realize any fish caught during a charter would not be eligible. Also is this tourney a per boat tournament or an individual. The vast majority of my trips are with my wife and family, would fish caught by them be eligible or only those caught by me?

Re: Question about the annual tournment - 02/09/07 01:11 PM

Capt. Bill:
You certainly are eligible. It's an individual tournament.
You can fish from a private boat, head boat, even off the beach!

All registered users of BFH can enter.

Re: Question about the annual tournment - 02/18/07 11:50 AM

The torunment runs from the 1 of the year to Dec 31. You must be paid up before you enter a fish for the tournment. Weight stations are any bait and tackle shop that have a certified scale. There are weight slips you can download and print. The fish must be certified by the weight master at the shop of choice and make sure you get the slip signed. If you need more questions please ask.

Re: Question about the annual tournment - 02/18/07 07:43 PM

Capt. Toad,
We run a few different types of tournaments. The one this thread is referring to is a Top Gun type of tourny. It runs all season long and prizes are distributed at out annual get together. There are a few different categories for you to shoot for.

We are also going to have 2 Striped bass, fluke and shark tournys this year. Check out the info in the tournament forums. There will also be more info coming out shortly.

Re: Question about the annual tournment - 03/06/07 08:26 PM

I have a question,
just for future reference i guess i was wonderin that, hypothetically, if someone weighed in a 20 lb striper for the striper tournament, would that fish also count toward the anual tournament as well?
Posted by: c-witch

Re: Question about the annual tournment - 03/06/07 08:30 PM

Yes, fish caught during the tournys can be also used in the season long tourny.

But you better shoot for 40lber if you want to be in the money. Last year Misokat had a 40 and a 42. I had a 32, Ballbuster had a 30lb fish, etc. Hopefully, we will see fish like this for our striper tourny.

Re: Question about the annual tournment - 04/24/07 08:26 PM

Just out of curiousity, does anyone know what were the weights of last years winners??
Posted by: c-witch

Re: Question about the annual tournment - 04/24/07 08:28 PM

Striper was 42lbs
Weakie was over 9

Not sure of the rest off top of my head. They were both caught by Misokat, so if he can do it, anyone can!!!

Re: Question about the annual tournment - 06/10/07 07:19 PM

Here's a question I didn't see addressed. In the combined fluke category can we keep weighing fish and bump out the smaller ones, or can we just weigh the biggest 5 of our choosing? The reason I ask is a got one today that will never stand through the entire season. I don't want to send it in unless I know I can bump it if I catch larger fish.

Re: Question about the annual tournment - 06/10/07 08:08 PM

You can always add fish to up your weight.
Posted by: Ballbustr

Re: Question about the annual tournment - 06/10/07 11:00 PM

Capt. Bill,
You may weigh in fish as many fish as you like to increase your total weight. The smaller fish will be deleted. Good luck!
