Looks like we have a lot of new members and a lot of them have been asking what certain initals mean. Here is a list I started. Post up any you can think of and I will add them to the master list. There is another post but not all of them are on it. Maybe we can make this a sticky so everyone can see it.

MI: Manasquan Inlet
IBSP: Island Beach State Park
BLR: Barnegat Light Reef
BI: Barnegat Inlet
BB: Barnegat Bay
OCC: Oyster Creek Channel
BL: Barnegat Light
DC: Double Creek or DCC - Double Creek Channel
LEI: Little Egg Inlet
LBI: Long Beach Island
HH: Honey Hole - The secret place you like to fish
The Tires: Barnegat Light Reef/BLR
ICW: Intercoastal Waterway
BI: ICW Marker near OCC
BB: ICW Marker near Forked River
GSRN: Garden State Reef North
GSRS: Garden State Reef South
HBH: High Bar Harbor
BH: Beach Haven
BHW: Beach Haven West
FR: Forked River
40: Can Buoy East of the BI Buoy/entrance to OCC
FA: False albacore or fat albert
BFT: bluefin tuna
YFT: yellowfin tuna
eyeball: bigeye tuna
AP: atlantic princess
MH: Mud Hole
SRI: Shark River Inlet:
AH: Atlantic Highlands
CC: Chicken Canyon
GH: Glory Hole
Bonz: Atlantic Bonito
RB: Raritan Bay
RB: Range Buoy

Research Buoy: Buoy that sits between BB & BI that was placed by Rutgers
The Pipe: It's a sewer pipe that runs into the ocean from the south end of Seaside Park/beginning of IBSP look west from the beach it's around the last line of telephone poles running east to west.
I believe the numbers are 74 05. 000 -- 39 54. 114 hope that helps.

Yeah I started fishing this morning at BI. Then I went over to BI for a little while. It was slow so I went to the BL reef. then I went over to the tires. LOL

OK on a more serious note.
FA or Fat albert = false albacore
BFT= bluefin tuna
YFT= yellowfin tuna
eyeball = bigeye tuna
AP = atlantic princess

Not easily, it is a global setting that once a post is a certain age it can not be edited anymore. Email me and I can do it with my admin ID.

Dan: While it's not an acronym i see a lot of references to the "Research Buoy" is that one specific buoy? Can you clarify what that is and where it is located?

It's a Buoy that sits between BB & BI that was placed by Rugters I believe. Closer to BI and to the east of it. It monitors the water quality.
