2010 GARBAGE FISH TOURNAMENT

Just set up info and registration feature for the 2nd annual garbage fish tournament. We've got some great help with this one and should have a huge participation thanks to the Ocean County Tourism Board, and several radio, tv and print media outlets who have contacted us to help spread the world and raise money for reclamthebay.org.

Instead of 10 days, this year's tournament is running the full month of July. 31 days to catch garbage fish and win money for it. + This year there will be merchandise prizes as well thanks to the generosity of participating vendors/weigh stations.

Is there any chance that you could add a weigh station in Pt Pleasant? Am I the only guy (besides Jersey Joe) who fishes out of the Manasquan Inlet?

Fishermen's Supply in Pt. was in last year as a weigh station - I'll add them again this year.

Steve - you're going to have to shovel your way over here. By the way - look at those plows sitting on Ensign drinking coffee for the last 2 hours. Your tax dollars at work.

Make sure you go in there and weigh some garbage. When I asked them to be a weigh station last year they looked at me like I had three nipples. Not a single person went in there with a weigh in during the course of the tournament which is why I was thinking of not using them, but ask and ye shall receive.

I tried last year, all we kept catching was keeper fluke and monster sea bass!

My bird got beat out on the last day. Won't happen this year!

Does it count if my catch is human...white trash?

I wish I had entered had a monster dog fish that would have been in the money!! won't make that mistake this year!!

Do gill nets count because I think I met a guy once . . .

And J.J. is telling the truth. Talk about supporting the sponsors - Joe registered 4 anglers last year and bought flags as well. You take me fishing for keeper fluke and monster sea bass and I'll put you on the garbage.

Was that the dumbest show or what. I'm in this year. I hope I'm like Jersey Joe and only get keeper fluke though.

That's a good problem to have.

Looking forward to another great year. Had a great time last year. Even managed to place 2nd in the Skate Division! "Outrigger Bob B" has the flag to prove it! Looking forward to 31 days of crap this summer!

Thanks for fishing it last year Matt. This year is going to be better - with more prizes - and more days to fish for crap. Plus don't forget the fish fry on the 24th.
