Description
Had the boat loaded and ready to go at 5:00 am. Turn the key and it is completely dead. After checking every wire and connection, realize the boat was not in neutral.

Broke the inlet about 6:30 and headed north. Just before seaside we spot a humpback whale, and lots of bunker with no fish under. Head a little further north and find a pod to ourselves, with a fleet of boats just north of us. I only have one rod equipped to handle the snag and drop, but decided to try with a light weight rod anyways. My one buddy kept thinking he had a striper on a foul hooked bunker, so it always looked like we had fish on, so with in no time we are surrounded by boats...lol

With no luck of with the bunker we headed out to the 3 mile line. With the inclement weather coming, I decided to troll north with the plan of coming back in through Manasquan. We let out a white mojo and before we can get the second rod set it goes off. Just a blue fish. Reset and same thing happens again, this time a nice striper. Finally get both rods out....the second equipped with a chartruese mojo trailed with a small spoon. That was it for the white mojo, with he rest of the fish coming on the combo.

As we were getting ready the leave the combo rod goes off. After a long fight and ready to net what we thought to be a monster striper, we end up with a double header of blue fish....one I estimate to be about 18 lbs.

Great day. We went 6 for 7 with the only lost striper being the one I reeled in let get off at the boat. Headed back in through Manasquan Inlet which was a piece of cake. Saw many people catching blackfish in the canal. Had to yell at one guy to throw back one that appeared to be 12" or so.

When asked where did we catch the fish, it's always in the same place, the lip.....
