Description
Awesome day released some keepers (only kept my 3) which turned out to be a 28” 8.57 lber a 26” 6.11 and a 24.5” 4.97 lber. Released several around 20” and 2 others over 24”. Fished on my boat out of Barnegat around wrecks mostly 70 ft of water or so. Really an awesome day got to my spot around 6;30 am and limit with nice fish before 9. Fished until early afternoon looking for a 10+ To film on my GoPro but happy otherwise.
Was told by several people I’m wasting my time since reports were no good. Happy to prove them wrong and let everyone know there’s fish in the ocean

Great tripScott!! Unfortunately I tried the opposite approach, Fishing in close to the beach from the CG station to the bathing Beach with sand eels- Nothing. Went out to 50 ft off theCG station and had a steady pick of shorts.

Highlight of the day was catching an 18” Triggerfish. We saw him hanging along the boat under the chine and when I reeled up a short fluke who spit out a piece of the bait he darted out to eat it and my son netted him. Took some pics and released him.

Also saw a giant sunfish and a cobia. All in all a great day on the water despite coming home with an empty fish box.

Thanks guys. Yeah sometimes your the bug sometimes you’re the windshield. My advice would be to move until you find fish or atleast get bites. I tried some spots that are usually good that were dead and all the fish came from small areas

Planned on heading to the Sansaba and Chaparra today but made a stop at a spot not far from the reef and had three keepers and about 20 shorts before the wind kicked up an 6 wouldn’t hold. Radio report from Sansaba was nice Sea Bass, no fluke.

I was a little shallow Friday. Did same thing other than depth. Only had 3 fluke all keepers.
Found floatsome with about 100' of poly line. Had about 4-5 triggers under it. Caught the 2 largest ones then the others were really spooked. Water was very nice Friday

Went out the day after with my dad looking for the same group of fish. Tried the same area and bounced around from there. Fished until around noon and pulled 4 keepers which isn’t bad but not the same quality. Thinking either they moved in or they were still there and the south wind shut them off. Well see what happens next time
