I had the Pete Anderson charter(Lucifish) out Sunday and we braved the cold and broke ice in the lagoon like everyone else. We cleared the inlet at 7:45 am and passed on the working birds to start the day wreck fishing.

We set up on a wreck in 60 feet of water at 8:30 am and had non stop action with blackfish until we went looking for bass around noon. Keeper ratio was a poor and we had to fish through about 100 shorts and 10 gallons of green crabs to get 10 for the box. Biggest fish was caught by Rick and it weighed in at 8 pounds.

At 10:30 or so, we noticed miles of birds working southwest of our wreck location. I called in a friend that was jigging some bass outside of the inlet, and he had a 4 man limit of bass to 33 inches in no time. We headed in that direction around 12:30 and the birds were still there and we left them diving around 3:45.

We got a mix of bass and blues for 3 hours straight, putting 7 bass in the boat. We were jigging with crippled herring and ava 47s and trolled shad rigs, color didn't matter.

If anyone is heading out for bass, check out the area just northeast of the Harvey Cedars lump about a 1/4 mile inside the 3 mile limit.

When asked where did we catch the fish, it's always in the same place, the lip.....
