The spring season has been underway for a few weeks now and things are coming along just fine. We had some nice winter flounder out back on blood worms for a while but they seemed to have moved on. The back bay areas have been producing some short bass on blood worms, rubber jigs and small swimmers alike. Mixed in with those shorts are the occasional 28" plus keeper, just to keep things interesting. The beaches out front have been quiet so far, but diving gannets and large adult bunker have been sighted on several occasions. Up north in the Raritan Bay area keeper bass have been taking artificial lures and natural baits for a while now. Black fishing on the local wrecks has been good with clams out fishing crabs buy a wide margin. We have fresh bunker and nice large blood worms in the shop right now, with fresh clams coming in shortly. The spring fishing has begun! So get off that couch, grab your rods and give it a go...
