Description
Caught this 15 pound ray in Meyers Hole Sunday morning fishing for fluke. He hit my bucktail with a gulp chartreuse curlytail. Scared the :xxx: out of me because it was taking a lot of line and at first i thought it was a little shark by the way he raised one of his wings above the surface. Has anybody else caught these in the bay? Its a first for me.

I think we might have had one last weekend. They come in, but it seems really early for them to be showing this year.

I caught one 2 Years ago while drifting for fluke in DCC. Was jigging a 3/4 oz bucktail, and the thing took off like a freight train. At first, I thought that it was a wayward striper or something. The thing scared the crap out of me once I got it close to the boat!

I get a couple every year, inside and out. Don't care for them though, fight or not, takes too much time from the fish I'm looking for.

Caught a ray a couple of weeks ago on the south side of the BB. Was surprised to find one so deep in the bay. Not that big but still was a hand full to get up on light tackle.

Had one on the 50 lb range 2 years ago, same spot (Meyers Hole)on a spro bucktail. Fought it for a long time- had to follow around with the boat. It literally exploded my cheap Okuma reel - now I use all Penn. NEVER try to land one: tail barb can give you a terible wound.

I had a nice size one in Grassy Channel a couple weeks ago in 8' of water. made the mistake of bringing it on the boat to save my jighead. thing was huge and flapping all around.
