Caught several of these fish while blowfishing. Are these puppy aka baby black drum? Or some type of perch

Not a croaker...we were catching them too. "Very similar". No noise and smaller spike on gill raker. Croakers will also flare gills after caught. Can anyone post a pic of a puppy drum...never seen one...thanks.
