Description
Spent last Thursday through Saturday in Jamaica Bay camping at Floyd Bennett Field and kayak fishing with 3 of my good buddies. In total we fished 20+ hours and 30+ miles of ground. We fished everywhere from the Ruffle Bar to JFK Airport. I knew we would get fish and my one goal was to troll Maja spoons on the kayak. I have been talking about with Tony for a while now and ended up getting some fish on them. I still need to fine tune some stuff but they def work. I will have my blog updated later today with the full report.

Thanks Joey, it was a lot of fun and awesome getting bass trolling spoons from a yak. I am gonna start a new trend! I have some ideas to make it easier and keep the fish hooked.

Thanks Tony, I'll have the video up shorty.

Paul, I am guessing Amelia Earhart. Our camping area was named after her. I was unable to get into the museum even though we camped 100 yards from it. Would never know the museum was in the building with broken windows and falling down. Inside were planes and helicopters. My buddies went in and took some pics.

Dan, I hope you went with the traditional route with 300' of monel and a nine foot bunker spoon rod (kidding). You have to be the first one to get a striper on a spoon from a kayak.

Scott I forgot to bring those little spoons on the chunking trip last year. They jig very well for not only bass but tuna as well!

Here is the video. I was using my custom Billy Gale rod and a Dawia Lexa 300 with 20# braid.

Great job! Quite an accomplishment to troll a spoon from a kayak! Guess you had the speed dialed in! Lol
