Description
Just got the SarahM back from South Harbor Marine. The old 200 HPDI was tired and needed to go. Decided on the new 200 HP in-line 4 cyl. 4 stroke. The change over was pretty easy using my old rigging
The helm was clicking and skipping so that had to be changed also.
What a difference the 4 stroke makes. It is super quiet and smooth running. Have to break it in for 10 hours. Put 3 hours on her the first day out.
Tom and his crew did a great job and the first service after the break-in period is included in the install.
Now all we need are the BASS!!

Nice motor! I never had an OB, how often do you need to replace them?

Paul, I've heard that if they are properly maintained, you should be able to get at least 2000 to 3000 hours out of them. Proper tune ups, oil changes (depending on engine), and even flushing the engine after each use are all factors in the life of the engine.

Ron, good luck with the new engine!! Those four strokes are nice!

They will offer you more warranty options when your close to running out. The only thing that kinda sucks is servive price for 20 hour and 100 hour etc especially doing the 20 and the 100 in the same season, but it makes up for it on fuel and not buying oil every fill up. I tripled my fuel mileage

I just turned 100 hours on my Yamaha 150. Spoke to Tom about the service, he said it's pretty simple to do yourself, and has no effect on the warranty. He will set you up with all the parts to do it. Engine has been bulletproof so far.

I also have a 18 year old 4 stroke Honda 50 that I bought from Tom, and really, it's amazing how little maintenance it needs. Oil, filters anodes and every few years a water pump. The only "issue" I ever had was the linkage on the lower unit became disconnected once. Honestly, I hadn't checked it, ever. Was simply a matter of replacing two nuts, and adjusting the rod. Took 10 minutes.
