Marathon, Key Colony Beach.
It was a great trip. I'll be back this summer for a few weeks.

Nice fish, congrats! I'll be in marathon off of sister creek for the last two weeks in February. I've rented a boat for 7 days. I got the patch fishing thing down pretty good last year. Can you help me with any trolling tips for this years trip? What colors, size, types of lures etc…work down there this time of year?
Thanks!

Winter months I pretty much use live bait for everything. Summer months I troll naked ballyhoo, and/or dark feathers for blackfin, and chartreuse/white (if it ain't chartreuse it ain't no use) and blue/white for mahi.

Thanks for the info. Do you mean to say you troll live bait In the winter months or are you setting up a slick and either drifting or anchoring up?

Depends what I'm fishing for. Mangrove Snapper is chum, anchor, and live bait. Grouper is anchor and live. The sail was live and enough power to keep the baits out and the lines without slack. What are you fishing for while you are there?
