Description
Had several requests wanting to know what to use for catching the bluefish. All shown worked well, some better than others, but I'll let the plugs do the talking.

Ed... I see you have the forward and tail trebles on them.
With blues I often remove the forward treble since blues usually hit the tail of the bait and I crush the barbs on the tail hooks. Most lures run fine without the forward treble, but if the lure won't run properly I put the treble back on with crushed barbs...

I do lose a few fish, but I think it is a bit easier overall then dealing with swinging hooks and barbs on a toothy blue.

Denis, I'm not a big fan of any trebles, though they are effectively and having fewer is safer especially with bluefish. I do crush the barbs, but not in those shown. Best to catch the fish without hooking yourself in the process. We are set with bluefish for sharking, time for the bass!

Yeah we crushed a few barbs after we had to take Dad to the ER last weekend with a 1/0 4x treble in his hand. I even put single hooks on some of my top water plugs for easy releases.

I lost 4 blues on surface hits today using my popper with a single hook only, on the rear. When I switched to a popper with a treble hook just on the back I hooked 4 gators on it. A single rear hook is fine when you are catching tons of them.
