Left the dock at 6:15 and headed out to try our luck with the stripers. As we swung by the lighthouse we saw the waves were stacked up at the mouth of the inlet on a strong outgoing tide. The closer we got the worse it looked after burying the bow and having one come over the ttop we quickly turned around and decided to go back to the bay and troll for some bluefish until the tide changed. At slack tide Doug and I hit the inlet and played with the bluefish for a while and then went north on the troll for a couple of hours and picked up one nice Bass at 45" 39lbs on a Maja #4 spoon. We headed to the barn early and were happy that we had fish for dinner.
