Surprisingly, it took him about 7-8 minutes. It fought very hard for the first 5 minutes (roughly) then it felt somewhat light for another couple of minutes until it got near the boat. then he started fighting again. I assume the fish swam towards the boat. He was exhausted and definitely relieved when i scooped it up with the net. One of those arm drop moments. It's amazing how much faster you can reel when you are 24 and no joint wear and body aches like us old timers, lol...
