We fished yesterday 5/9/16 with Joe Dilanzo and friends. We have not been out for more than 2 weeks due to the weather. It has been pretty windy mostly out of the east and rainy. We headed up the beach I did not see much bait along the way and we started fishing in 65 feet of water. We went as far as 15 miles to the north and worked into 45 feet of water. We did get 2 bites in the blind and landed 1 42" Striper and that was our day outside. We did come in the bay and caught a couple Bluefish. We found a few piles of bait and did not get a bite out of it. Last year our first real good bite was on May 8th our earlier trip back in April was good . Without good weather and boats fishing daily it will take a little while to figure it out.
That being said they could show up any day, the East and South winds have not been good for us Striper fishing, I like Westerly and the North wind . We have upcoming trips this week if you would like to discuss them give me a call.
